I first met Cesar when I was 19 when he came to speak truth at Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa. He was a simple farmworker with clarity calling us to justice In the summer of 1970 I met Cesar when he visited some 600 of us who were in prison for civil disobedience standing for the right of farmworkers to organize and strike. He talked to us about having to be in isolation when he was imprisoned. He also talked about finding solace and courage in daily prayer and meditation. His faith continues to call me to also live true.
