"Cesar Chavez from Afar...."

I moved from Chicago to Bakersfield, California and I can say that it has been a blessing and a sign from God.  I have been involved in latino and immigrant rights in Chicago and have always been inspired by Cesar Chavez.  My father was once a farmworker and throughout my childhood, he explained to me the diffiuculties he faced as a farmworker, that silence was an obligation, not a right.  Today, he is living and well and age has catched up to him.  However, the touch of his hands along with every farmworker today has a story.  A story of struggle, of sacrifice for family and bravery.  I’m proud to say that I’m part of this great and inspiring organization and I have found my true spiritual purpose.  Si Se Puede!  Sandra Meza
