Twenty years ago when Cesar Chavez died my husband was hospitalized and on the day he was released from the hospital, he left with a good friend and they drove to attend Cesar’s funeral. “Manuelito” as Cesar called him belonged to Local 383. He took great pride in pulling security and transporting Cesar when he was in Arizona. My husband began supporting the United Farmworkers Union cause in the 70’s and 80’s by taking part in rallies, marches, and boycotts. My husband passed away in 2010, but we are so proud that he was part of and truely committed to the visions Cesar Chavez fought for. Cesar Chavez remains an inspiration to all.
