I have taught grades K-12 Spanish in various states and settings. I have always enjoyed reading the book about Cesar entitled Harvesting Hope to my students. The artwork is beautiful and the story is well-done. It appeals to all ages and captures their attention and concern. One year we even acted out the story for our international festival. I feel it is just as important that my students learn about the heroes, issues and culture of the language they are learning as it is to become fluent in the language. I tell them that Cesar Chavez ranks up there for me as one of my personal heroes. Finally, I just began using GoodSearch.com and donate to the UFW.
