I was a young college student in San Antonio and Austin, tx. We distributed flyers in front of grocery stores to discourage people from buying iceberg lettuce and gallo wine. When I came home to Victoria,tx for weekends and holidays I would tell all my friends and families to boycott grapes and lettuce. Back then, the only lettuce we ever knew about was iceberg. This cause was our introduction to activism. I became an attorney and I’m ever grateful for the leadership for justice demonstrated by Cesar Chavez
To this day, I have a picture of Cesar Chavez hanging in my kitchen. Que Viva La Causa!!
