As the Button Man to the Movement, I had spoken and worked with UFW dozens of times over the years. Cesar was a dedicated man who led the fight for worker rights and safety. As was the custom in those years, buttons were worn to show support and also to raise funds. We designed and supplied tens of thousands of pinback buttons to the UFW. As activists in the Movement and the UFW, we also demonstrated and boycotted markets along with Delores Huerta and members of the UFW in order to inform and force retailers to recognize the working conditions of the farm workers. Cesar is missed and will be remembered as the great leader that he was.
